Who We Are
The Valley Housing Fund (VHF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by Gunnison Valley residents in response to a growing concern about home affordability.
We envision a Gunnison Valley where everyone who lives and works in this community has access to a safe and affordable place to live.
What We Do
1. Funding: We fund affordable, quality housing solutions.
We maximize affordable housing construction in the Gunnison Valley by granting private funds annually to housing developments.
2. Outreach: We advocate and inspire support for housing.
We raise awareness through outreach and education, providing resources to spark informed conversations and rally support for housing solutions.
3. Facilitation: We connect the right people at the right time.
We foster collaboration between private and public sectors, aligning diverse perspectives to keep projects moving forward.
4. Leadership: We serve as active community leaders.
We have an active seat at the table, participating in discussions and decision-making to proactively shape the future of housing.
The Valley Housing Fund works collaboratively to create and support affordable and accessible housing opportunities to strengthen the Gunnison Valley community.
VHF envisions meeting the needs of our community through diverse community housing projects at both ends of the valley that combine the skills and resources of the private sector, governments, nonprofits and community members.
As a leader and advocate for affordable and accessible housing opportunities, we champion the completion of housing initiatives in the Gunnison Valley through direct financial support and stakeholder facilitation.
In addition to contributing to existing housing initiatives, we provide strategic leadership and outreach to call attention to our valley’s affordable housing challenges and enable positive change in local policy, programs, and developments.
