All donations will help support the operation of Vintage Theatre. Donations are especially needed this year as we are looking to do major building maintenance and renovation.

Our roof needs to be replaced as soon as possible. We have been moving forward with patching the leaks, but it's time to replace the whole thing. We don't want to drip on the audience! Or on the lighting equipment!!

Additionally, we are hoping to raise the rake (the angle of the seats in the audience) in the Nickelson Auditorium so that patrons can see the stage more easily from any seat in the house.

These two projects will make the theatrical experience better and safer for all our patrons, but will take a bit a cash that we do not have on hand at the moment. We would love for you to help us toward that goal!!

"Have been going to Vintage Theatre performances for several years. It is an absolute gem! Each performance has been a delight and absolutely professionally done. The atmosphere in either of its two theaters is excellent. The staff is first rate, friendly and helpful. We only wished we had discovered the Vintage years earlier!" Google, 2022

"I walked away thinking I didn't pay enough for the ticket.  The theater was so intimate.  I had great seats in the front row.  The cast did a fantastic job.   Everyone poured their hearts into it.  I can't wait to see what else they have in stock!" Google, 2022

"This is a great small venue. The people are friendly and it makes the atmosphere wonderful. The shows are totally great. The actors come out and are always so welcoming.  Everyone should have this experience." Google, 2022

"This is a true hidden gem! I had the best time ever watching Shakespeare in Love and can't wait to go back for another show. Can't believe it was my first time at Vintage Theatre but better late than never. It's a very intimate venue so you get to fully experience all the raw emotions. Even though it was my first time there, I've heard really wonderful things about it and that they always do an outstanding job with production of various shows and events.
Their bar area is really nice as well, and the staff is very attentive. Overall, I can't recommend it enough! It's so important to support theatre as it gives you some genuinely amazing one of a kind experiences!" Yelp, 2022

"Someone else wrote that this theater is hidden gem. And it truly is. What a great space. I had never been before coming to see the show Drowsy Chaperone last night. Walking in the theater it's super cute and has a small stage in the front for cabaret and small shows. There's a bar and two theaters in the space, one bigger than the other. Everyone who works there is super friendly. The talent that this little theater is putting out is astonishing. The show was incredible. I cried at the end. I didn't think such a small theater had that much quality on the stage. It was just wonderful. I can't wait to see another show here." Yelp, 2022

"Vintage Theater consistently performs outstanding theater showcasing local talent. The facility is excellent, intimate and really has no "bad" seats. The full service bar is also outstanding and creates "special" drinks for based on something from each show." TripAdvisor, 2020

Mission

Vintage Theatre seeks to offer programming that delights, challenges, and entertains our audiences, and engage the community through an ongoing dialogue through the arts.

Background Statement

Vintage Theatre is an award-winning performing arts theatre in the heart of Aurora Cultural Arts District. We produce blockbuster Broadway favorites on our 140-seat main stage, regional premieres, intimate dramas, and off-beat comedies in our 60-seat black box theatre, and a wide variety of performances on our cabaret stage.

Vintage Theatre is proud to be an active community member by providing educational programming and outreach, touring neighboring communities, and producing a New Play Festival to develop new work and engage the audience through ongoing dialogue with us. As a diverse community, we recognize that theatre is a force for change and are committed to welcoming and including the voices of all people in our storytelling and work.

In 2001, five friends gathered for martinis and they decided to create Vintage Theatre Productions, Inc. (VTP). They were inspired by the opportunity to increase diversity in the local theater scene through title selection and to bring together their artistic prowess and business acumen to a new company. This core group of friends began Vintage Theatre to provide performances that would be accessible to a wide variety of audience's interests, while offering a place for theatre professionals to hone their craft. They decided to start their company on the road and began to tour productions throughout Colorado for private events. After successfully providing theatre across the state for six years, the group became a 501(c) 3 and sought out a permanent base for their shows.

In 2008, Vintage Theatre rented a small stage in Denver's City Park Neighborhood and began to produce a full season of eight plays. During the next four years, they received much critical success and continued to expand audience and support through funding from both SCFD and individual donations. In 2012, Vintage Theatre purchased the former Shadow Theatre located at 1468 Dayton St in Aurora, in the heart of the newly formed Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD). Since that time the troupe has seen impressive growth and continues to draw close to 20,000 total visitors each year to Aurora, more than doubling the paid attendance from 2012 while in Denver.

Today, Vintage Theatre continues to advance the goals set forth by the co-founders. In 2023 Vintage Theatre will produce 11 main-stage titles, four touring productions, support multiple rentals, maintain their full liquor license, and increase educational programs for youth.
