Wings Over the Rockies

A nonprofit organization

Wings Over the Rockies opened its doors on December 1, 1994 as a small, volunteer-run museum passionate about sharing aviation history with the public. Today, Colorado's Official Air & Space Museum is dedicated to not only preserving history, but also to preparing tomorrow's aerospace professionals for the workforce.

Our donors are vital to sustaining our work of educating aviation and space enthusiasts of all ages, and inspiring innovation in our state and beyond. Your gift helps us build the future of aerospace in Colorado!

Sustain the Wings this Colorado Gives Day!

“Sustineo Alas” means “I sustain the Wings.” When you donate to Wings Over the Rockies, you'll join the community of supporters fueling aerospace education in Colorado for 30 years and counting.

Your support helps the next generation of aviation leaders achieve their dreams through expanded, hands-on aerospace programs. Wings graduates become commercial pilots, engineers and drone pilots, proving the sky is no limit.

Your gift of any amount will sustain transformative education enrichment programs, engaging exhibits, historic aircraft restoration, and more. Plus, all donations made through December 10th will help us unlock additional funding through the Colorado Gives Foundation and FirstBank!

In honor of our 30th anniversary, when you give $360 or more or commit to monthly donations of $30, we’ll send you our exclusive Sustineo Alas hat as a token of our appreciation. Show off how you sustain the Wings...in style!

All donations are processed securely.

Mission

Background Statement

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is a Colorado-based non-profit organization dedicated to unlocking visitors’ dreams of flight through exhibitions, events, and educational programming. We are proud to provide these services at our two locations: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum and Exploration of Flight.

Housed in Hangar 1 of the former Lowry Air Force Base in eastern Denver, the Air & Space Museum boasts more than 100,000 square feet of exhibit space dedicated to displaying iconic aircraft, space vehicles, artifacts, military uniforms and much more. Designed to inspire and educate people of all ages about aviation and space endeavors of the past, present and future, our museum is proud to be Colorado's Official Air & Space Museum.

Located roughly 19 miles south of Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, Exploration of Flight is a 15-acre campus set on one of the busiest general aviation airports in the nation. Through aviation-focused events, programming and exhibits, Exploration of Flight offers an immersive, educational experience for those fascinated by flight, and a unique perspective for those already in the industry. While visitors to Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum experience a rich heritage center, Exploration of Flight focuses on the future of aerospace exploration and technology.

Each year, these two locations welcome approximately 160,000 visitors from all 50 U.S. states and more than 30 countries.
