Wolverine Wonders Homeschool Co-Op began with a vision: to offer homeschooling families a place where children could engage in group learning while respecting each child’s unique pace. As a passionate homeschooler, I found that traditional schooling models, which often place 20 or more kids together in a classroom for over six hours, did not align with my belief that each child’s individual pace of learning should be honored. When respected, that pace allows children to truly thrive.
As I embarked on the homeschooling journey with my own children, I quickly realized we were missing something—group learning and shared experiences. I wanted my kids to have the chance to learn and grow alongside their peers, engaging in activities that foster curiosity and cooperation. However, I didn’t want to simply drop them off at a school. I wanted to be actively involved, ensuring that each experience aligned with our values.
With this vision, I reached out to Nicole, the director of The Community Treehouse, to ask if we could create a space for a small homeschool co-op. Thanks to her support, Wolverine Wonders was born.
Our approach is different by design. We offer “mini classes” in a structured two-hour format, mimicking the essential blocks of a school day without overwhelming the children. This setup keeps them engaged, enthusiastic, and curious throughout each session.
A cornerstone of Wolverine Wonders is caregiver participation. We believe that caregivers should not only be welcome in all activities but also play an active role. This ensures safety, allows each caregiver to attend to their child’s unique needs, and creates a supportive, understanding environment for everyone involved.
Today, Wolverine Wonders serves families across the Four Corners area, providing a place for homeschooled children to learn, grow, and experience the joy of community. I am grateful for every family that has joined us on this journey, and your feedback and input continue to shape our co-op’s future.
Thank you for believing in this vision and helping make Wolverine Wonders a valuable resource for our homeschooling community.
Sincerely,
