Help neurodivergent children and youth to live their best, most independent, well-rounded lives. YVAP teaches social and work-readiness skills through wrap-around programming that also engages educators, caregivers, family members, employers, community members, and peers.
YVAP believes all children who need it should have access to therapy --regardless of their insurance status or family's ability to pay. In 2024, YVAP increased the number of youth in therapy by over 30% and provided 1700 hours of therapy to uninsured and underinsured children.
But we can only do this with your help. Your donation will help us fill the gaps in health equity. Donate today!

MISSION - YVAP helps neurodivergent youth aged 3-21 by providing individual therapy, social skills integration, community partnerships, education support, workplace readiness, community education, and family resources.
VISION - Neurodiverse individuals and families in the Yampa Valley are valued and accepted.
OUR VALUES - YVAP upholds the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for our employees and the individuals we serve.
In 2002, a group of six mothers gathered in Steamboat Springs with the goal of securing high-quality, specialized services for their children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This was no small feat in a rural mountain community. Yampa Valley Autism Program was born in 2004, gaining 501(c)3 status in 2007.
Since then, YVAP has grown into a wrap-around program that serves over 60 neurodiverse children and youth aged 3-21 with a variety of diagnoses. YVAP is the only program in the valley giving kids tools to improve all facets of their lives.
YVAP teaches social, emotional, educational, and vocational skills to maximize their independence and promote well-rounded lives.
Yampa Valley Autism is Northwest Colorado's only Medicaid-approved ABA therapy provider. This evidence-based therapy has been shown to improve daily functioning for children with autism.
Yampa Valley Autism relies on donations and grants to provide therapy to children regardless of the family's ability to pay. In 2024, YVAP provided over 1700 hours of therapy to uninsured and underinsured children.
Yampa Valley Autism is improving health equity for children in rural Colorado. Please help ensure we can continue to do so without limits. Donate today.
