Testimonials
Gerry Audesirk: My wife Terry and I moved to Steamboat in May 2007. I had no prior musical experience, but I thought that singing in a choral group would be fun. We joined the Yampa Valley Singers in fall 2008. I discovered that singing parts is hard, because I kept sliding off onto other people's parts. But perseverance and lots of practice paid off. In 2013, I started singing at the Doak Walker House once a month, while accompanying myself on the guitar. Now (until COVID-19, that is) I sing and play four times a month at Casey's Pond, on a strictly volunteer basis -- a very rewarding activity for me, and I hope for them. Although this is solo, not choral, singing, I probably wouldn't be doing it if I hadn't had a good experience with YVS.
Brian Weerts: Being able to sing well is a gift! It is a shame to have it and not be willing to use it. Singing in Chamber Singers, conducted by Christel Houston, is an excellent way to be in company with great voices, sharing our gifts and led by a truly qualified Master conductor!
