Background Statement
Adoption Dreams Come True, Inc. a fully licensed Child Placement Agency which opened its doors in Fort Collins, CO in 2005. Cindy Sarai, former Director of Adoptions and Emily Watson, former Placement Supervisor of Littlest Angels International Adoption Agency led the operation, which offered statewide domestic adoption services with a sliding fee scale and free life-long birth parent counseling. Both Sarai and Watson hold their Masters in Social Work from Colorado State University. Sarai and Watson had assisted in the placement of over 400 children, serving hundreds of birth parents and adoptive families as well as providing outreach and education to the community. The agency is now staffed with Cindy Sarai, MSW, Founder, and Executive Director, Ginger DeReus, Director of Development, and Adrienne McCrystal, Adoption Caseworker counselor.
Originally, the director of Adoptions for Littlest Angels International, Cindy Sarai met a woman named Dorothy Fitzgerald who offered to volunteer at which time she, along with 3 other women formed the Volunteer Guild. When the Fort Collins office of Littlest Angels International closed, the Volunteer guild ( now 19 active volunteers) joined Adoption Dreams Come True and renamed themselves the "Dream Guild". The Dream Guild has supported Adoption Dreams Come True by fundraising and outreach. The Dream Guild launched the Night of Stars gala as well as making greeting cards, selling gift certificates,running a weekly bingo session and Bunco as fundraising opportunities. They established and run a closet for children ages 0-2 that gives baby clothing and accessories to those in need in Larimer County at no cost. The Dream Guild has raised over $240,000 for the agency and has brought awareness to the community about the agency and the families it serves.
The agency is supported by a Board of directors comprised of community members with a multitude of expertise.
Adoption Dreams Come True is well respected and has grown in its seven years to be an agency that the community sees as an asset to improve the lives of families and children throughout the state of Colorado.
