Background Statement
Together, landowners, community partners, and AVLT have protected 48,000 acres of the places you love. Within these conserved lands are over 104 miles of riverfront and over 33 miles of public hiking and biking trails. Almost anywhere you go in the Roaring Fork or Colorado River valleys, you will come across open landscapes that will remain that way, forever.
The loss of open and scenic lands to unplanned development threatens our economy and quality of life. The conservation of open land helps ensure clean water, habitat and migration corridors for wildlife, a future for local working farms and ranches, and equitable access to outdoor education and recreation.
Support AVLT to create a legacy of conservation for the next generation, both wild and human.
