Colorado Greyhound Adoption is a 100% volunteer 501(c)3 organization dedicated to finding permanent loving homes for and promoting the adoption and welfare of retired racing greyhounds as excellent family pets. We have no paid staff, and ensure that all of the money donated to Colorado Greyhound Adoption goes directly to helping greyhounds with feeding and vet care while in foster homes, until permanent loving homes are found.

We donate to CGA because all the funds go to helping the dogs, CGA is a 100% volunteer organization and is focused on making sure any medical issues are taken care of and finding retiring Greyhounds forever homes.
We volunteer to help find these amazing creatures forever homes, they are the absolute sweetest souls and deserve to find someone that will love them and give them a great home.
We have been involved with CGA for almost 15 years, it is an amazing group of people all focused on the same thing, helping these wonderful dogs with the transition from life in the kennel to life in their forever home. Jim and Karen
We have been a part of CGA for the last 14 years. In those 14 years we've adopted 6 greyhounds and have donated our time in many roles including; foster, mentor and board member, and our money.
We love that CGA values their volunteers and is very mindful to stay true to make financial decisions that are greyhound-centered and show fiscal responsibility.
We have met some of our most cherished friends through adopting. CGA becomes family and we are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group.

Steve and I were introduced to the world of Greyhounds at the 2005 Roofest in Adams County. That is where we fell in love with our first of several greyhounds, Fame, and have never looked back! We have fostered and adopted others since then, and have had our hearts and souls profoundly enlarged along the way. CGA paved the way for all of our fosters and adoptions, and could not have asked for a better experience. Professionally-run, kind, and compassionate, with the greyhound always at the forefront of every decision. We applaud CGA for what they have done for us and the community as a whole. --Edith and Steve Knehans
I have been involved in greyhound adoption with CGA for 18 years. I will never forget the first greyhound I fostered and all of the dogs that have graced my life. Courage, adaptability, and gentleness describe the charactor of these magnificent athletes. CGA volunteers are compassionate and resolute when working to find the greyhounds their perfect human family. I am forever grateful for the wisdom of CGA volunteer organization and the retired racers. --Betty Kaplan
I don't know if words can truly express the love and joy these beautiful creatures give to their humans. We are blessed to have them in our lives. Our two have us smiling and laughing everyday with their personalities. Colorado Greyhound Adoption is the finest Adoption group I know of, I have many friends that are associated with other Adoption groups so I feel I can say that with complete confidence. The love and caring that CGA provides to the Greyhounds and to those who foster and the adopters is beyond reproach. CGA is an awesome group and we are so proud to be part of it. --Maggie and Steve Kennedy
Adam is the missing piece to my little fur family - such a sweet, goofy, playful, and loving boy! He greets me with excitement every time I come in the door, to the point that I'm afraid he will hurt his tail from wagging it so hard! He asks to play tag in the backyard every night when I get home from work, and sprints around so happily. He quickly became my best friend and companion. He is in training to become a therapy dog, and is gentle and responsive to my clients, all of whom love him. He has won over every member of my family, who are now interested in adopting greyhounds too! Adopting him was the best decision, and although I've only known of his existence since March, I can't imagine life without him! And his little feline brother loves him too! --Stephanie Hill
Having a greyhound means you'll always have your best friend with you. --Missy Steinbeck
Originally got a greyhound cuz I knew they were wonderful dogs and would be great when my mother came to live with me (she's 89). I knew I needed something in the house to make her not feel lonely when I had to go to work. I brought Laney downstairs to meet my mom. Mom said "well hello Laney" and laney being the caring girl she is walks over and places her head on my mom's lap. Ever since then my mom has not been lonely. --Jan Traver
