Background Statement
The Denver Post has a strong 100 years+ legacy of giving back to the community. It has always been an important philosophical component and part of the newspapers culture to give back to the neighbors and community in which they serve. The Denver Post maintains a variety of community fundraising and giving programs, including The Denver Post Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization - all of which strive to improve and enhance the lives of those in our community.
In an effort to achieve our mission of improving and enriching the quality of life in our community, The Denver Post Community's giving programs - Season To Share, grants, sponsorships, signature events and volunteer efforts - focus on four primary areas:
ARTS and CULTURE
: Arts and cultural activities inspire us and enrich our lives. They a vital part of the colorful and unique fabric of the Mile High City. We are proud to partner with many of our community's outstanding arts organizations in order to make performances, exhibitions and other cultural experiences meaningful and available to a wide range of people.
CHILDREN and YOUTH
: Children deserve a chance to lead healthy, happy and productive lives. By providing opportunities and activities for children and youth to grow, we make our city strong and our future brighter. We strive to ensure that young people in our community have every opportunity to succeed.
EDUCATION and LITERACY:
Knowledge and the ability to read are essential ingredients for building a better society. Supporting programs that provide educational opportunities and literacy instruction is a key part of our mission to better the lives of those in need.
HUMAN SERVICES
: The care and provision of basic services to those in need is an important element of Denver Post Community's mission. We support providing help and hope to people who need it the most.
