Background Statement
Co-founders Brandon and Elizabeth Lindsey were never expecting to start their own nonprofit. However, despite the demands of full-time jobs, their own children, and the whirlwind of their busy lives, they knew they were being called to make a difference in their community somehow, someway. Brandon had one vision: to empower children through the love of sports. So, in 2013, they took a leap of faith and founded Dream On 3. With money from their own pockets, they launched our signature program, the Dream Experience, and made a sports dream come true for Nicholas Batley, our very first Dreamer.
Fast forward 11 years, and Dream On 3 now has four regional communities across the country and has impacted over 36,000 people nationwide. Their journey is a testament to the incredible impact that can be achieved when passion and purpose join forces.
"How it began and why it is still blessed today is because everyone who gets involved in Dream On 3, whether it is our referral partners in different communities or our volunteers, donors or sponsors, all see and feel the mission," Elizabeth Lindsey, now CEO, said. "There is a ripple effect, so not only is this child and family living a dream come true and are feeling loved, but they also feel a community behind them. It is not a one-and-done. It is so rewarding to be able to see a child experience that moment when their dream starts and then hear what it does for them after the fact."
