Testimonials

"There have been days that we just show up feeling like we have been in a war zone and being able to spend a short period of time around her, the horses and that beautiful ranch has been such a relief some days. God has a strong calling on Suzy's life to do a very special needed service for those that are hurting or just need to get away from the intense daily life that can be extremely overwhelming."

"We cannot say how invaluable Healing Horses for the Armed Forces has been to veterans in the VA VASHprogram. We have seen real positive change in the lives of many of the veterans who have participated. It is our hope that VASH will be able to continue bringing our veterans to this important program for many more years to come. "

"The impact that ministry of Eagle's Nest Ranch has brought to my daughter is fabulous. She looks forward to every horse session. She just loves talking to and helping Suzy. Not to mention grooming and being with her favorite horse, (as she puts it) Danny."

"He likes the fact the horses can sense when he feels impatient and anxious."

"I want to take a minute to not just recognized Eagle's Nest Ranch, but to personally thank Suzy MacKenzie for creating and running this great program for us Warriors. My experiences as a Marine in Desert Storm changed me in ways that took years to begin to understand. Self-medication through heaving drinking masked what was really going on; hyper vigilance, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, a fight or flight mentality and violence, all of the baggage a combat vet carries. I carry these heavy bags every day. With the heavy drinking days behind me, I am blessed to have the clarity to identify and isolate the symptoms of my PTSD. Coming to Eagle's Nest Ranch over the last few months with Suzy and working with Honey, Lucy, Danny and now Blue have given me a dependable peace that I can rely on each and every time I visit. Suzy and Eagle's Nest Ranch have definitely made a difference in my life..." Chris

Mission

Eagle's Nest Ranch provides Life Support for our Nation's Heroes to take back what the enemy stole.

By harnessing the powerful bond between horses and humans, military personnel, veterans, first responders and their families begin the journey of taking the brave trails to restoring peace, renewing faith and rebuilding lives through the power of God's redeeming love and His faithful promises, so they will soar on wings like eagles.

Background Statement

Eagle's Nest Ranch was founded by Suzy Stanfill (MacKenzie) in 2014, after being inspired by the book, Hope Rising, by Kim Meeder of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. The book tells of how God used the tragedy in Kim's life to bring redemption to broken horses and children. The ranch was born out of the desire to share God's unconditional love so that people will know He can make beauty out of ashes.

Eagle's Nest Ranch started on a small property in Parker with three horses, a round pen, and $180 in the bank. We are now located on a beautiful 40 acre property. Our nine horses help facilitate healing the brokenhearted in both individual and group sessions.

The ranch ministry serves those living with the invisible wounds of life to help them discover the changing power of Christ in order to find hope and healing. The populations we serve are the military and first responders communities, and their families. Sessions are 90 minutes long and are offered at no charge. Each participant works with a horse and Session Leader to address the pain, grief or challenge they are facing.

Here at Eagle's Nest Ranch we hope, we believe and we don't give up. We invite you to be a part of that.  The ranch verse is "My God in His steadfast love will meet me."  Psalm 59:10a.   God's love for us is unconditional and never wavers. He meets us where we are in our brokenness and loves us still.

We are funded by the generosity of those who see the value of our programs and through a handful of grants. We appreciate your interest in what we do to support our community and we welcome your questions and inquiries.

"No matter how dark the day is, there is always hope."
