Rooted in Resilience: Help Us Grow Colorado’s Tree Canopy

Colorado’s unique environment presents challenges—but together, we can meet them head-on. By supporting Groundwork Denver’s tree program, you’re investing in a greener, healthier, and more resilient future for our communities.

Help us raise $30,000 to expand our Tree Program, starting this Colorado Gives Day.

Why Your Support Matters

  • Thriving Trees: We plant climate-adapted, hardy trees that combat urban heat, improve air quality, and restore ecosystems - especially in areas hit hardest by environmental injustices.

  • Youth Employment: Our program creates jobs and provides hands-on training for local youth, teaching them vital tree care skills and fostering environmental leadership.

  • Community Connection: Trees bring neighborhoods together, providing shade, beauty, and a sense of pride in shared spaces.

Your Impact in Action

With your help, we’ll ensure that every tree we plant gets the care it needs to survive Colorado’s semi-arid climate. Trees need 2-3 years of close attention to develop deep, drought-resistant roots, and your donation helps makes this possible.

Beyond planting trees, you’re supporting meaningful job opportunities for young people, helping them build skills, confidence, and a connection to environmental stewardship.

Make Your Colorado Gives Day Gift Today. Bonus: Thanks to a $10,000 matching challenge, your support will go twice as far to grow Groundwork Denver’s tree program and make a lasting difference!

Every dollar makes an impact. Let’s grow something amazing together.

Mission

We partner with youth and community to build a healthy, equitable, and sustainable environment.

For over two decasdes years, we've driven community action towards environmental results right here in metro Denver.

Background Statement

Most of us believe that everyone has a right to a healthy and safe environment, regardless of how much money we make or the color of our skin.

More than two decades ago, Groundwork Denver launched with the purposed of responding to environmental injustices in the metro Denver community. We exist to engage residents in civic planning processes and to implement tangible neighborhood-based and youth-led projects that improve the urban environment while developing environmental leaders.

Our goals are:

To build bridges between residents, businesses and government to accomplish positive environmental change.

To support the growth and development of environmental and community leaders from the neighborhoods where we work through youth employment, internships and community-based jobs.

To promote the inclusion of the diversity of people in our communities in decision-making and in action.

To ensure equal access to a clean and healthy environment for everyone, regardless of where they live, their economic status or their race or ethnicity.
