Testimonials
"My third grade class spent two wonderful days at Lite Root Farm with Farmers Daphne and Cameron. The children had wonderful hands on experiences, were fascinated and challenged. Being able to milk a cow, hold a baby pig, and learn about the science of compost was both thrilling and empowering to them.
This experience not only enriched our curriculum, but gave the children a deep sense of connection to the land, and an understanding of the hard, daily, meaningful work involved in biodynamic farming."---3rd grade class teacher Shining Mountain Waldorf School.
After a hands-on session of learning how to make compost on the farm:
"Manure is awesome!!"---4th grade student from Denver.
" My high schooler looked forward to the weekly farm education programs at Light Root Farm and it became his favorite class of the year!"--Parent
"I have heard about farm's doing this kind of work, but actually seeing in person the way you care for the animals and the land, it gives me hope." ---Adult in recovery program
"I have had the pleasure to work with LEAF several times. At our school, the third grade gets to experience some farm trips. My students always loved every minute of it! Working with the draft horses was so exciting for them, milking a cow was an amazing moment in their lives, and working in the fields, helping with harvesting or planting, as well as moving rocks, or weeding gets the children rosy-cheeked and happy. It is such a pleasure to see third graders get connected with the earth and with the animals. Of course the pigs are super fun, especially the piglets! Daphne and Cameron are masters at making these farm experiences meaningful and fun!" -- Teacher Mrs. Altglet
