Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital rely on the philanthropic support of our communities and friends to meet the challenges of providing mental health and addiction services across our 10-county service area on Colorado’s Western Slope. We ensure that no one is denied access to services due to an inability to pay, thanks to the crucial contributions of our supporters who help us assist those with need.

In 2023, an estimated 880,000 Coloradans reported needing treatment for mental health issues but were unable to access the necessary services. Additionally, 95,000 individuals indicated a need for substance use treatment. Mind Springs collaborates with city and county governments, private practice therapists, primary and acute care physicians, and various community partners to identify gaps and develop innovative solutions to address diverse mental health and addiction treatment needs.

Recent examples of these partnerships and efforts to create access points for treatment include the new medically managed withdrawal treatment center in Glenwood Springs and the opening of the region’s first Psychiatric Emergency Department at West Springs Hospital. These initiatives help more Coloradans receive services and timely intervention during crises, ultimately saving and transforming lives.
