Testimonials
TACT is a stunning organization that teaches children on the autism spectrum various trades. Better said, it is a revolutionary movement which enables youth to believe they were created and designed with abilities that can astonish the world. Most autistic kids walk into places feeling different, but when a child walks into TACT, they know they belong. When I asked my son about his experience at TACT, he said, "You can be you." I couldn't agree more. Any child who participates in a TACT activity will be empowered, encouraged, and leave with confidence in who they are and the abilities they possess. TACT is developing future trade prodigies. Prodigies that believe they have a purpose and can make a difference in the world. TACT activates the underlying potential in each autistic kid's life.
"You are not building a school here. You are building a community. Thank You."
"TACT is the ideal next step for our 13 year old boy. Where traditional schooling and therapy fall short, TACT steps in."
"I want to thank TACT for their vision and foresight by providing real work experiences so that all of our kids may find something that is meaningful and productive. You cannot imagine how
grateful I am!"
"I want to thank you and the entire staff and volunteers at TACT that made this new school happen so that young adults like my 17-year-old son with Autism have a chance to explore apprenticeship tracks while still completing his high school graduation requirements at his home school. The multiple apprenticeship tracks that you are offering will give him a good shot at accomplishing job skills and trades that will help him to have a happy and fulfilled adult life."
"My 11 year old son participated in the Intro to Trades Camp. He greatly enjoyed the variety of projects, the tools used and being able to create on his own. After building his own instrument, he declared "I made it with my two hands!"
The teachers and assistants showed great patience and enthusiasm for their craft, giving the students their undivided attention. When a task was too difficult, we appreciated the accommodations provided on the spot so my son maintained a positive experience while still being challenged. This course was a great place to begin and we look forward to taking more courses!"
"At one of our fiber arts classes, we were learning basic embroidery skills. One student, a 19 year old girl who is non-verbal, picked up her materials and began stitching the most beautiful diamond pattern as if it was the most natural thing in the world for her. Her focus was intense and she seemed so content."
