About

We are creating an unapologetically different, neuro-diverse community offering vocational, employment and enrichment opportunities for people living with intellectual and developmental differences - a place where people with and without disabilities can live and work together in a supportive, cooperative environment that honors their individuality, celebrates their uniqueness and helps them to reach their full potential.

Testimonials

"The evening PJ was born, we realized the roads we’d be traveling would take us to a multitude of unknown destinations. It gives us great hope and comfort that Tall Tales Ranch is a destination that will allow PJ to live in a supportive community that will push him to be as independent as possible while developing relationships with wonderful people to last the rest of his life."

- Peggy and Pete Bernardis

"My favorite thing about Tall Tales Ranch is that we get to be in a new community and meet new friends."

-Andrew, TTR Ambassador

Mission

Tall Tales Ranch is dedicated to providing a life sharing community where both people with and without disabilities can live in a supportive, cooperative environment that honors their individuality, celebrates their uniqueness and helps them to reach their full potential.

Background Statement

Pat and Susan Mooney started Tall Tales Ranch as a way to honor and support their middle son, Ross, who acquired a brain injury as a result of a genetic disease, and would require support for the rest of his life. Not expecting their other children to take responsibility for him, and wanting him to live as independently as possible, they began to explore the various options for both residential and vocational opportunities. They quickly learned that the options were few and that most of them lacked any real innovation or creativity. They knew that they could do better for their son and other families, so they began creating a special community that was designed with the idea that everyone has something to offer and that people of every ability deserve the opportunity to contribute. Including income producing entities, like a coffee shop and community event barn, the ranch will provide much needed job training for a multitude of people living with special needs. The apartments will be rented to both those living with disabilities and those without, creating a true neurodiverse space where all can be honored for their unique skills and abilities.
