Women2Women makes a funding appeal to the public twice during the year. One campaign is called "100 Women X $100 X 100 Days" and is conducted from October to the end of December. The second is the annual Circle of Sisters Luncheon held each Spring.

Testimonials

Women2Women has received numerous thank you notes and keeps a file of them. Because of our confidentiality requirements, we delete names from the letters. An example of one such note was from a former addict who wrote that because of our assistance she was able to have urgent dental work performed. She stated she could now have mirrors in her home and her grandchildren told her how nice it was to "see" her smile!
We now and then post client stories on Facebook, being very careful to leave out any specific's that could identify the woman.

Giving Activity

Mission

Women2Women provides one-time financial assistance to women in Weld County who find themselves in the midst of a financial crisis, who have exhausted all other avenues for help and who have been referred to us by another charitable organization. We do so with open hearts, a respect for the generosity of our donors and the privacy of our recipients, and a belief that we can make our community a better place through our actions and commitment.

Background Statement

In 2009, a few organizations in Greeley served women’s financial needs, but none provided immediate assistance. That same year, Women2Women Founder, Kay Broderius, shared her idea of an organization that provided financial assistance to women in need with nine other Weld County women.

These ten women all agreed that an organization that could respond quickly to women’s immediate financial needs would be unique, and Women2Women (W2W) was formed and received 501(c)(3) status. The first W2W fundraising effort was for each ten board member to ask ten friends for $100 in 100 days. Just 31 days later, $11,000 was raised, and W2W was off and running.

The first assistance payment was given to a University of Northern Colorado Student who was graduating and needed financial help with her utility bills. She had to give up one of her three jobs to complete her final semester, and W2W’s assistance provided needed support for her and her young child.

Soon after, W2W began contacting other 501(c)(3) agencies and formed partnerships with United Way 211 and Northern Catholic Charities. Today, W2W partners with nearly 90 agencies and has an expanded service area from Greeley/Evans to a larger portion of Weld County.

Women2Women uses 100% of donations to support our mission to provide immediate, one-time financial assistance to Weld County, Colorado women who have exhausted all other avenues for help. We address a critical community need and do so within 48 hours of receiving the funding request. We pay assistance directly to community vendors and service providers, resulting in a positive local economic impact. All we ask of our recipients is to “pay it forward” and perform an act of kindness in return.

Management of applications for assistance is through an online referral and application system in cooperation with social service agencies, county or city agencies, churches, or schools. We assist with rent, car, utility, home repairs, some medical (dentures, hearing aids), and gerontology issues.

Examples:

She fled domestic violence in the middle of the night with her two children with only the clothes on their backs. We assisted with the purchase of beds for the children.

During the holidays No money for cancer treatment medication.
