Host a Cause-Focused Giving Event

What is a giving event?

A giving event is facilitated by an organization focused around a specific initiative, cause or campaign. Giving Event hosts should expect to mobilize nonprofits and generate community support to reach a collective fundraising goal. While Colorado Gives Foundation does not sponsor giving events, our team can offer the fundraising tools and resources to run a successful large scale giving event on ColoradoGives.org.

Does my organization have to be a Regional Champion to host a giving event?

No, you do not have to be a Regional Champion to be a giving event host. But typically, community foundations or private foundations are well-suited to be giving event hosts. They often have the necessary incentive and program funding, mission and network to ensure a successful event year after year. We've also seen nonprofit cohorts emerge as effective giving event hosts!

What is the level of commitment involved?

Before agreeing to be a host, please consider the level of commitment and time required to host a large-scale giving event. Make sure your organization is prepared to manage this with excellence. Depending on your event’s scale and scope, hosting may involve a fairly significant time investment.

How do I get started?

If your organization is interested in hosting a large scale online giving event, please schedule a 1:1 call with our nonprofit success manager.
