Domino Service Dogs is the reason the Gordon family can sleep at night. Wilson has changed their family’s life, allowing them to travel and join their community in ways that were impossible before the sweet poodle came along. Wilson has completed his service dog training, but there are many more who need the benefits of a service dog to live full, joyous lives on their own terms.
People with disabilities face challenges most folks don’t even know about—exclusion, medical risks, extra expenses, dependence on other people, strain on relationships, and a cycle of impossible circumstances that can lead to poor health, incarceration, depression, and even death. Service dogs, especially from an organization that subsidizes training costs and more, can increase quality of life, independence, relationships, health status, and access to means to make life even better.
We at LDGR are asking you to give to this cause because we know the changes a task-trained dog can bring about, and they are miraculous. We also know that Domino Service Dogs provides more than just dog training; they give their clients a space where they are surrounded by peers in a nonjudgmental space where disability is the norm. They are a resource for navigating complex systems for finding medical and financial assistance. The community is a source of a vital need for all people: friendship.
