Connections needs your help to continue our Youth Outdoors Program. We designed the program to increase social connectivity and appreciation for natural outdoor spaces around northeastern Colorado.
Our Youth Outdoor Program runs during the summer months with weekly scheduled workshops that include fishing, hiking, therapy horses, survival skills, and visits to state parks. In 2023 and 2024 youth learned and practiced outdoor skills such as building shelter in the wilderness, knot tying, how to perform CPR, basic gardening skills, cooking, and more.
Our program is free for youth age 14 -17, who live with a disability that are residents of Weld, Morgan, Logan, Washington, Sedgwick, Yuma, or Phillips County.
Our Youth Outdoors Program needs $13,000 to function annually. This funding provides lunches, snacks, and drinks for the participants. It also covers transportation costs, activity fees, and pays the program interns.
