Support Colorado Trout Unlimited's Headwaters Youth Programs and double your impact now! Donations made before and on CO Gives Day will make a direct impact towards:
- Supporting the sustained growth of our programs through building capacity
- Program supplies and resources, such as gear libraries
- Putting youth into the outdoors and helping them build community around conservation!
Without your donation, CTU Headwaters Youth Programs would not be possible. When you give this year, your impact is doubled with matching donations totaling $7,500 from Allen Adinoff and Mary Klinert, Barbara Luneau and Mark Rayman.

CTU's Headwaters Youth Program engages and educates Colorado's next generation of conservation-oriented anglers. We do this through education and outreach to youth across the state; providing hands-on, field-based opportunities that foster environmental awareness, outdoor skills, leadership development, and a whole lot of fun. In 2024, we engaged over 15,000 youth, families, and community members through our Headwaters Youth Programs!
Trout in the Classroom - Trout in the Classroom (TIC) connects students and educators to their local watershed through a hand-on learning process of raising trout from egg to fry in their classrooms. The students take care of the trout and learn about water, trout, and habitat conservation throughout the school year. Most TIC sites and participants get to release their trout into the wild at the end of the school year! TIC continues to see rapid growth each and every year.
"This is a fantastic program! Our students were dedicated in maintaining the health of our tank and raising the trout. They used skills that included technical reading, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem identification, problem solving, analysis, teamwork, and dependability." -Christine R., Evergreen Middle School Teacher
STREAM Programs - These hands-on programs connect local kids, families, and community members with their local watershed using creative outdoor education modules founded on STEM-based learning with Recreation and Arts. There is more interest than ever before to connect with new partners and serve underserved and/or marginalized communities with our incredible STREAM programs!
River Conservation and Fly Fishing Camp - Youth at CTU's Camp not only fly fish and sharpen their angling skills, but they also expand their relationships with coldwater stream ecosystems, build leadership skills, and connections with one another. Want to see the next generation excited about being outside and learning how to steward our precious resources?
The time is now to get our youth involved with conservation right here on our home waters. Will you join us in ensuring CTU has the funding, capacity, and resources needed to get kids outdoors, connect the community to their local watershed, and foster the next generation of conservation-minded anglers?
