Salida Mountain Trails (SMT) stewards 70 miles of singletrack—and we need your support to keep it in great shape.
SMT has logged more than 3,300 hours of trail maintenance this year on the Arkansas Hills and Methodist Mountain trail systems, and on the Monarch Crest—a record high! Over the past few years, we've also significantly grown our Trail Steward program to give volunteers the teaching and tools they need to steward the trails they love.
Help us take care of Salida's trails by donating today!
In addition to maintenance, your donations supports:
- New trails — Rise-N-Shine (2021/22) Backside (2023) and Maybe (2024). SMT is a leading partner developing the Chaffee County Trails and Conservation Plan.
- Volunteer engagement — 1,270 hours of volunteer trail work in 2023, including work days with local youth and youth corps.
- Conservation — 4,500lbs of trash removed from Burmac Trailhead on National Public Lands Day in 2023; 100+ pounds of dog poop removed from the F Street Trailhead on Earth Day 2024.
If you love Salida’s trails, please donate today so we can continue to deliver on our mission to create and maintain sustainable, multi-use trails; steward public lands; and promote a vibrant trail community.
