For the last year I have been a volunteer on the Community Empowerment Committee of the Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF); we review and approve grants from local nonprofits multiple times during the year. The CCCF wasn’t even on my radar until I was asked to join, so I didn’t know all the good they do for our valley.
Just look at CCCF's impact since 2018:
• $4.3 million charitable contributions inspired by CCCF
• $2.4 million invested via donor advised & area of interest funds
• 3,000+ unique donors partnering with CCCF for their philanthropy
• 28 funds managed by CCCF targeting critical needs
• 300 people from 70 nonprofits received 55 hours of skill building & support
• $3.2 million invested through grant making
• $842,000 distributed to 563 people, businesses, & organizations during crises
• $330,000 in the fund poised for the next emergency
On a personal note, most of you know my husband Dave has been coming out to the Arkansas Valley to climb 14ers since 1999; he often brought our two children, Maureen and Andrew, as they grew up. It took him ten years to convince me to move here in retirement! We made the big trek from NJ in 2019, and both kids followed us out to enjoy the mountain life. (Our photo above is recent, at The Surf, with niece Maggie in the middle).
I don’t have to tell those that live here and friends who have visited what a beautiful, welcoming and adventure-filled area we live in. If you haven’t been here, come visit!
I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with the dedicated employees and people who volunteer on the committees.
Please know your funds will be used wisely, and give what you can to support CCCF!
