$6,500 goal

I am so proud to lead Hope Communities and so grateful for friends and colleagues who have lent support to the amazing impact we make in the community. It’s no secret that the economy is tough, people are having a difficult time making rent, paying living expenses, and even accessing nutritious food for their families. While my daily work includes fundraising for the full scope of programs and services Hope offers, this Colorado Gives Day page is dedicated to securing additional funds to support healthy, culturally appropriate food for the thousands of families we serve.

I hate to see families, and particularly kids, who are hungry. Unfortunately, we are seeing that more and more these days….even with some of the new programs that provide food for kids during the school day. Hope Communities has been working to address this need for some time, and with recent cuts in funding and fear of new cuts in the coming year, we need your help to do even more.

Last year, we distributed enough food for over 83,000 meals, and truthfully, the sense of urgency for food support has steadily grown, although many of the sources of funds for food have declined.  Will you please help me raise $6500  to support our healthy food program, which will add $250 to food distributions across the year?

We are exceptional stewards of the funding we receive. While across the organization, 87% of all funds are used to support our vital programs (housing and client services), 100% of these earnings will go directly to the purchase of food.

Thank you so much for considering this.  I am grateful to all of you!

Sharon
