Last year this time, we made you a promise. We vowed to bring you:
• More accountability coverage of city and county governments
• More news from our local schools
• More information to help you navigate your life
• More interesting stories about your neighbors and businesses
We take these promises seriously. That’s why the journalists serving two dozen publications work hard to connect you with your community and give you the information you need to make informed decisions. We filed hundreds of stories related to the November elections. Here are some of the other ways we’re working on your behalf:
• The launch of our bilingual newsletter, La Ciudad, expanded the reach of news to Spanish-speaking residents in Commerce City and beyond.
• Our coverage of a state plan to locate halfway houses for offenders near an elementary school led to a reversal of that decision.
• We took a look back at the 25th anniversary of the Columbine High School tragedy and the legacy of resilience and hope that still exists.
• While refining our digital offerings, we’re committed to delivering news in print, which is why we helped bring a new printing press to the Front Range.
We want to build on this momentum, but we need your help. Will you help us reach our fundraising goal? No amount is too small.
One last thing — starting Dec. 3, the Colorado Media Project will double contributions up to $1,000, through Dec. 31.
We also want to continue to hear from you, to understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve. You have our gratitude for being a loyal reader, and we wish you well through the holidays and throughout 2025.
