Program Story

For over 40 years, Advocates of Routt County has been a vital source of support for individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. Our services go beyond temporary relief, equipping survivors with tools and compassionate support to rebuild their lives. Every year, hundreds of individuals turn to Advocates for help whether through our 24-hour confidential helpline, safe shelter, or our support groups and peer counseling.

No matter where someone is on their journey, Advocates stands by them, ensuring that they are not alone. Your contribution ensures that survivors have access to essential resources when they need them most, allowing them to find safety, healing, and hope.

Program Impact

Advocates of Routt County measures its impact through client interactions and services provided, which continue to grow:

• 1,067 client contacts in 2024
• 79 new clients so far this year
• 376 crisis calls received
• 425 nights of shelter provided to those in need

Your support makes it possible for us to deliver a range of direct services, including:

• Safety planning, emergency, and transitional shelter
• Legal and medical advocacy
• Referrals and financial assistance for mental health services
• Youth advocacy, support groups, and our 24/7 SafeLine

Additionally, your gift can provide essential items for survivors staying in our shelter, such as personal care supplies and self-care items, creating a welcoming, home-like environment. This year, we are especially focused on supporting our first-ever Spanish support group, providing dinner and childcare for survivors of domestic violence in our community.
