Have you ever had trouble paying attention in class because you didn't feel like you could really connect with the material? Or, if you're a teacher, do you ever struggle to find curricula that engages students with learning goals by incorporating their personal interests?
Pop Culture Classroom's mission is to:
- Inspire a love of learning
- Increase literacy
- Celebrate diversity
- Build community through the tools of pop culture and the power of self-expression
Here's how PCC has a positive impact on students, teachers, and schools:
- We lead custom-designed workshops for students, which are not only fun for kids to learn how to do something like create a comic, but are also useful to help train teachers how to incorporate pop culture in their lessons
- We offer over 70 free curriculum, comics, and teaching guides that teachers can use to engage students with graphic novels and literacy and arts programs
- We partner with FAN EXPO Denver every year to lead our Kids' Lab family activities, Educator's Day professional development, scholarships, and more
PCC & WriteCause are partnering to pursue a better future for literacy and learning!
WriteCause is a teen, volunteer-run organization that runs free quarterly writing contests with prompts centered around major world topics. Through writing, we encourage education about subjects of global importance to spur ideas for solutions.
Submitting an entry makes you more aware of these issues while developing your writing skills!
WriteCause is dedicated to inspiring teens to reflect on issues our world faces so they can be part of the solutions.
