Hola!👋🏽 My name is Bibian Reyes. I am a first-generation college graduate with a Master’s in Social Work from Metropolitan State University.
For my birthday this year, I am excited to take on my first-ever half marathon—13.1 miles! I will be participating in the Run for Refugees event with the African Community Center!
Through the Run for Refugees initiative, I aim to raise awareness and funds to support ACC and our community members. By running, I not only challenge myself but also serve as a reminder—to myself and others—of the resilience and strength we embody when we stand together.
The African Community Center of Denver (ACC) is a refugee resettlement agency with a mission to help refugees and immigrants rebuild safe, sustainable lives in Denver. They welcome families fleeing persecution from all over the world, from countries such as Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cuba, Venezuela, Ukraine, and others.
As a Legal Assistant at ACC, I play a critical role in supporting the ACC’s attorneys in delivering legal services. Responsibilities encompass assisting community members with securing asylum, parole, work permits, residency, and other immigration benefits.
Please join me on my journey to meet my fundraising goal by race day: May 18, 2025. You can help by sharing this page with your family and friends or by making a financial contribution if you are able.
Now, more than ever, ACC is in urgent need of your support. Every donation will get me closer to reaching my goal!
Want to join me? You can sign up for a race at runcolfax.org & select ACC as your charity partner.
I look forward to sharing my experience with you!
With Gratitude,
Bibian
