Humanizing This Habitat

I joined the Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley team a couple of years ago. I came from a life career in the hospitality business where being people-oriented and empathizing is a must. Habitat broadened my perspective and helped me understand what it truly meant to support people and families in our community beyond any process or barrier, understand their needs, and walk with them toward building a better future!

Numerous problems, such as mental and physical health disorders, domestic abuse, difficulties finding employment, and financial challenges, are mostly caused by a lack of safe, reliable, affordable housing.

Habitat Vail Valley's history extends beyond its role as a home builder. It served as a link between clients and those in need of services and the county's existing services for many years. Habitat Vail Valley felt it was critical to respond to the community's steadily increasing need for resources and assistance. By formalizing the navigation and wrap-around support into the Building Futures program, we have responded to community needs while simultaneously expanding our capacity.
