Founded in 1995, Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice’s bereavement camp, Camp Comfort, has helped more than 1,800 grieving children ages 6 to 12 find a path through their grief. Every summer, Camp Comfort offers two weekend long camps and one day camp for three days for those children not quite ready to stay overnight. Children from across Colorado learn ways to cope with their grief through workshops and activities, building skills to help them now and throughout their lives. Workshops are balanced with exciting recreational and creative activities, so that children feel free to have fun and just be kids.
The goal of Camp Comfort is to assist grieving children in understanding their loss while having fun and finding support with other children who have also lost a loved one.
Your gift on Colorado Gives Day helps make camp FREE for kids.
“It was a gift, there’s no other way to say it. There were so many responsibilities and expenses laid upon me that the ability to send the girls for free was profound.” – Mother of two campers
