And as always, thank you!
Please join Center for Community Wealth Building (CCWB) to help create an economy that works for EVERYONE.
At CCWB we partner with workers to develop cooperatives, opening new pathways to business ownership and shared prosperity.
We collaborate with small, local entrepreneurs to provide tools, training, and connections to help their businesses flourish.
We work with large anchor institutions like hospitals and universities to help them redirect their spending and investment to strengthen the economy in their own communities.
Your support can help us create opportunity for entrepreneurs like Johnitta Medina, owner of Momma Jah's LLC. Momma Jah’s is a thriving vegan catering business, but before she built her business, Johnitta experienced housing insecurity and enormous barriers to success as a woman of color and single mom. Through CCWB's Feeding Anchors program, she gained the skills, mentorship, and confidence to transform her culinary passion into a flourishing business. Today, Johnitta is building community wealth by creating jobs, supporting local suppliers, and nourishing her community with culturally rich, plant-based soul food. This is what we mean by community wealth building!
With the support of donors like you, we have already accomplished so much.
Over 620 businesses owned by people of color are connecting with consumers who are looking for opportunities to do business with them through the ShopBIPOC.com platform we co-developed.
15 anchor institutions in the Denver Metro area have shifted thousands of dollars of their spending to local, diverse businesses.
Worker-owned cooperatives are providing pathways to ownership and shared prosperity for people who have never had the opportunity to own a business.
Your partnership is crucial in this journey. Here's how your gift can make a tangible difference:
$500 can provide financial coaching to one of our partner businesses to organize their finances and complete their first business tax return.
$250 can support a full day of interpretation for our worker ownership academy, where community members learn how to develop and launch their own worker-owned businesses.
$100 can pay for Quickbooks for six months for a new business owner.
$60 can pay for one hour of child care for a business development class attended by parents who are starting their own businesses.
$25 can buy binders to hold the curriculum and planning documents for our skilled trades training class.
By investing in CCWB, you're helping individual entrepreneurs like Johnitta build successful businesses AND helping us to create more vibrant, diverse local economies.
Please join us in this transformative work. Together, we can create an economy that works for everyone.
