On November 19, 2022, the Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ community was forever changed when a gunman entered Club Q and tragically took the lives of five innocent individuals and left many others injured. To honor those lost, a city-wide Club Q public memorial is in development. This family-led, family-designed memorial will stand as a tribute to the precious lives lost and a powerful testament to the resilience of our LGBTQ+ community.
Who Is Involved?
This project is being being facilitated by Prism Community Collective (Prism) in collaboration with the City of Colorado Springs and the families of the five victims. Prism, an initiative of Community Health Partnership, is an LGBTQ+ resource center dedicated to supporting victims' families, survivors, and community members in their healing and recovery.
Why Is the Memorial Needed?
This memorial will not only serve as a place of remembrance for those we lost, it will provide a much-needed space for individuals and families to come together to grieve, remember, and find hope amongst community.
