The mission of the Colorado Veterans Service Foundation is to perpetuate the programs and services provided by veterans service organizations (VSOs) including the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and others to support the unfilled need of over 400,000 Colorado Veterans. Federal and State veterans' programs have bureaucratic and budget constraints leaving many veterans' needs unfilled. Our mission is to "fill the void" to assist our fellow veterans.
Entities and programs we support include:
- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare System and Colorado State Veterans Living Centers.
- Food and clothing for homeless and needy veterans.
- Stand-downs and other events and activities benefiting homeless and needy veterans.
- Assist needy veterans with utility and rent payments. furniture, vehicle repairs, grocery gift cards, and other needs.
- Automatic electronic defibrillators for VSO facilities.
- All Veterans Honor Guard providing veterans "the final honors" at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
- National Disabled Winter Sports Clinic in Colorado.
- Other National, State, City, and community programs and activities benefit Colorado veterans.
Serving in the United States armed forces is one of the highest callings as an American citizen. supporting our nation's veterans is an admirable calling that individuals, businesses, and nonprofit entities can fulfill today.
