Empower WPS Students: Join Something Big!

Hello, Friends & Family!  Below is my story on why I serve on the Foundation Board, and how your generous donation makes such a big impact.

I have been honored to serve on the Foundation Board for over 5 years, and I have first-hand seen the impacts donations have on students and their families. I'm on the Foundation both because of my companies relationship with the school district, and my personal history in the greater NW Denver area. Having parents who attended Westminster HS, and serving youth in the community as a Revive Church volunteer, opens my eyes to the needs of our community and how we can help kids and their families. The Foundation sincerely listens to the needs of the students and their families and it's amazing to see how impactful either a scholarship, trip to visit a Equine Therapy Farm, new set of glasses or WiFi hotspot, or covering registration fees to attend a music conference can truly change kids lives! I've also been fortunate to interview students for Foundation-funded scholarships, and it's both heartbreaking and transformative hearing how many of these first-generation college bound students have overcome such massive hurdles to get to be able to attend college, and how much a Foundation Scholarship will give them a leg up.
