Denver Choruses Colorado Gives Day 2023 (RMAA)

Did you know that this year alone, according to the Human Rights Campaign, a record of more than 540 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in state legislatures; over 220 of those bills specifically target transgender and non-binary people, also a record; and 45 anti-LGBTQ laws have been enacted? 

Many of these laws ban gender-affirming care for transgender youth, require or allow misgendering of transgender students, target drag performances, create a license to discriminate, and censor school curriculum, including books. In conclusion, these laws are meant to target LGBTQAI+ and especially put our transgender friends and family in danger.

People are dying because the world has chosen to not accept them as who they are. Whether you are a member of the community or an ally, it is very important for all of us to show up for what’s right. The Rocky Mountain Arts Association, the Denver Women's Choruse and the Denver Men's Chorus are dedicated to continuing the fight and keep building community through music. We will not be silenced.

We are inviting you to collaborate with us this season in raising $15,000 to help:

• Provide tours around Colorado with concerts for more accessibility and raise our voices in rural communities.
• Expand our outreach to Denver metro area high schools
• Supply students/teachers with free/low-cost tickets to our concerts
• Reach people who wouldn’t otherwise have any contact with the gay community.
• Replace old stereotypes with positive images and messages.
• Tell our stories to counter misinformation and express our common humanity through music.
• Maintain and grow our presence in the LGBTQ+ and the broader community while raising our voices to counter the increasing number of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation being introduced/passed in over 20 states
• Ensure a future of financial security and longevity for the generations to come
