The world is changing, and newsrooms are turning to new and innovative digital technologies to keep up with the massive demand for accurate news.  

Urban Spectrum Youth Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, provides media literacy programs to help prepare youth for careers in journalism and media. To accommodate industry changes and support the next generation of journalists, we are expanding our programs to include advanced technology training...and we need your help.

• Advanced Production Training: We will provide participants with up-to-date editorial training and resources for the creation of accurate, newsworthy content. 
• Advanced Technological Training: Hands-on training for new equipment and software will prepare participants for work in professional settings. 
• Smart Media Consumption & Ethical Training: Strategic source finding and safe navigation of online news will help guide participants toward success in their careers and lives.  

The Next Generation of News Leaders 

Urban Spectrum Youth Foundation has provided media training to over 250 young people, teaching important skills such as how to identify and research news topics, writing and editing articles, creating graphic design projects, implementing advertising campaigns and learning how to consume media in a smart and healthy way.
