Give the Gift of Hope and Healing Through Horses!

Hi! It's Dray Wharton here. Thanks for following my link! As you may know, I’m raising $5,000 for The Right Step, Inc., an incredible adaptive riding and horsemanship program in Littleton. Their mission? To transform lives through the extraordinary, healing power of horses.

The Right Step opens doors for children and adults with disabilities, veterans, individuals in recovery, and residents in assisted living and memory care facilities. Through riding and connecting with horses, clients gain confidence, physical strength, communication skills, leadership abilities, and so much more.

This program is personal to me. As a veteran myself, I know that coming home doesn’t always mean finding stability right away. It breaks my heart that some of my fellow vets face homelessness and uncertainty after giving so much. That’s why I’m supporting The Right Step’s equine-assisted learning programs. While there's many different offerings, I want to focus on how we support veterans who are determined to reclaim stability and purpose in their lives.

Every Friday, a group of veterans from Valor Point Domiciliary comes to The Right Step to work with the horses, rebuild their confidence, and reconnect with a sense of purpose.

When the grant funding for this valuable program ended, The Right Step refused to turn these heroes away—they’re keeping it going out of their own pocket because it truly makes a difference. A year's programming for a veteran costs just $3,750 and I'd love to expand this service. Will you join me in pitching in? Any amount you can give helps ensure that these veterans have a place to find hope, confidence, and a clearer path forward. Thank you for standing with them—and with me.

• Truckloads of hay to keep  six hardworking horses well-fed for a little over three months, or
• Cover unexpected veterinary bills like the one for $1,800 we recently had for Splash, who needed a few days at the vet to recover from a sinus infection. Poor girl... thankfully, she's better now!

The Right Step changes lives—human and equine alike. Watching a veteran light up as they connect with a horse for the first time is indescribable. And the confidence, strength, and joy this program brings ripple far beyond the barn.
