In the beautiful Colorado mountain community of Evergreen, Elk Run Assisted Living exists to care for our residents and their families. Our mission is to foster fullness of life for older adults.

This year, we are looking to update the....

The loo. The pot. The latrine. The lavatory. The john. The potty. I could go on and on, but I think we all know what I’m talking about. 

We need to talk about bathrooms. Yep, you heard that right! 

Thanks to amazing supporters like you, we transformed our common areas this past year with some fabulous new furniture, and everyone at Elk Run has been raving about it! (A big thank you to those who gave!!) 

But now, our sights are set on the next frontier: our public bathrooms. 

It’s not the most glamorous project, but we’ve all been there—good bathrooms make life so much better, right? Imagine trying to get around in a bathroom that’s about as spacious as a phone booth. Our residents are champs, but they deserve a little more, well…room to go. 

Here’s what we’re aiming to do with your help:

Safety First: Non-slip floors and sturdy grab bars—because nobody wants their biggest adventure of the day to be almost slipping!

More Space: Wider doors and bigger layouts to fit wheelchairs, walkers, and more. Also installing a door opener to make it more handicap accessible. 

Extra Comfort: Fresh fixtures and finishes to make these bathrooms a place where you’d actually want to spend a few minutes (hey, no judgment!). 

The approximate cost to update and renovate the public restrooms is $25,000. As a nonprofit, we can’t afford to meet this need on our own. 

When you give, you’ll be providing the gift of flushing to residents at Elk Run. You never knew that could be a thing, did you? :)
