The Estes Valley Voice is a hyperlocal, locally owned, and journalist-led digital news firm serving the Estes Valley community. Our mission is twofold: to produce and distribute news, features, and commentary based on six fundamental cornerstones of journalism—integrity, independence, accuracy, accountability, objectivity, and transparency—and to be a forum for the civil exchange of viewpoints and public engagement.
We are a public benefit corporation, which according to Colorado, law is a for-profit company “intended to produce a public benefit or public benefits and to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner.”
The Estes Valley Voice launched in June 2024 and we are passionate about what we do. Our tagline is "news connection to our community." We believe in telling the community story and reporting on the news that is important to the residents, business and property owners, and employees who call the Estes Valley home.
Community journalism is a public good and it takes the investment of a community to sustain an independent media.
The Colorado News Collaborative (COLab) is acting as our fiscal sponsor for this work. COLab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working with newsrooms like ours across the state to strengthen local public-service journalism.
