Help Eagle River Coalition protect local rivers

You might know this already, but I'm on the Eagle River Coalition's board of directors. I'm on this board because I want to do whatever I can to make sure that there's an Eagle River for my daughters. And the Eagle River Coalition protects, cleans, and advocates for this river and the entire watershed.

Rivers are important to me because the Eagle River Valley is important to me and life here isn't possible without these waterways. Not only does our $1.4 trillion recreational economy require water, but we're in a headwaters region, and local waterways are a source of water for more than 40 million users downstream. 

I'm proud that this year, we:

- coordinated the annual Community Pride Highway Cleanup, bringing 860 volunteers together to remove 17+ tons of trash from the county's highways
- replaced 5,600 square feet of thirsty Kentucky Bluegrass in Edwards with a demonstration garden of 20 water-wise alternatives that will reduce irrigation needs by 75%
- wrapped up the Eagle River Community Water Plan, a foundational guiding document for protective action for years to come
- held the annual bilingual Community Float, an event that removes barriers of access to experiencing the Colorado River by raft for an afternoon, empowering equitable conservation
- brought hundreds of volunteers together to celebrate the 30th Annual Eagle River Cleanup - that's 3 decades of volunteer-driven, organized collaboration to clean local rivers!
- introduced all 400+ of Eagle County's 5th-graders to their waterways by coordinating the annual Eagle River Water Festival

This organization is a responsible steward of funds and ensures that our mission to protect local waterways guides all that we do.
