Sharon's Emergency Support Fund for Hope

Hope Communities does incredible work to help vulnerable people across the Denver Metro Region to secure safe housing, basic needs, and the resources they need to access economic stability and mobility. Hope programs have grown dramatically in the last seven years to address urgent needs in the community - tripling in staff size, expanding the scope of programs, and building our capacity to serve clients in 22 languages. Offering direct, in-person navigation and services through the pandemic and beyond has been a mainstay of the work. The holistic, family-centric program model is highly effective with clients – even with the toughest obstacles to success. The service approach and responsive programming have resulted in a 75% increase in the number of clients served in just the last year.

 Although we have surpassed initial expectations in terms of the number of clients served, and the breadth of programs to serve those clients, we are faced every day with the knowledge that more must be done.  We need your support to respond to that call for help.

I urge you to consider funding the work of Hope Communities for Colorado Gives Day. My specific request this year is for funds to provide emergency housing and basic needs for families facing the greatest obstacles - who do not have access to public assistance. 

Hope Communities' program team will serve these families in pertinent languages to secure housing, access healthy food, help parents navigate the system to get their kids enrolled in school, and find employment to sustain their family needs independently. Many of us grew up expecting these basics of life would always be there for us, and sadly, they are not available to many in our community. The assistance Hope provides can be transformational, changing the trajectory of a family's life. We need your help to accomplish all that we'd like to do.
