Live

I am having a blast as a preschool teacher at Anchor Center for Blind Children! We are the only center & community based nonprofit dedicated to serving children from birth through age 5 who are blind or visually impaired, as well as their families. Our transdisciplinary team of classroom teachers, therapists, and teachers of the visually impaired are passionately dedicated to maximizing resources and potential for the sake of our Anchor Community!

If you know me,  you know I love to be playful, creative, silly AND analytical, science-y, and nerdy. Anchor Center allows me to embrace all of those things, and challenges me to grow and learn daily. I am grateful that my path has led me here!

As a nonprofit funded primarily through donations, we are continually being creative with the funds that we have. "Fix or Repair Daily" is as relevant for our classroom materials as it may be for a certain car company. Our very hands-on learning environment can mean that many of our materials get damaged as our kids investigate them thoroughly. Our students' needs are also each so unique that items we have from previous years aren't always well-suited to a current student. Donations allow us to keep our learning environment in the best condition possible for our learners to thrive, and keep our dedicated staff from purchasing too many things ourselves.

The Anchor Center board is matching donations through December 5, so any donation you can give is doubled - don't be shy!

Big hugs from me!
