FULL SEND! Keep Heritage & Littleton MTB Rolling

Our incredible team culture at Heritage and Littleton High School Mountain Bike team continues to uphold that mountain biking should be accessible to every young rider, regardless of financial background. But let’s face it, the equipment, the travel, the accommodations – it’s a heavy load for families to carry across the season and it can be an intimidating obstacle for kids just starting out on what could become a life-long hobby that builds determination and generates joy in equal measures. We want as many kids and their families to hit that season commitment full-send, no brakes – so we’ve set a fundraising goal this year that can help make that happen. 

Here are the primary cost categories that your generous donations will help to offset so that our favorite activity continues to be as open and accessible to as many young athletes as possible. 

• Donations to this small organization help keep our team fees lower than average across the league, allowing more kids to experience the joy and challenge of mountain biking while attending High School at Littleton, Heritage, and home-school affiliated programs.
• We’ve also been able to provide a bike and gear to kids who need them, ensuring that no one is left out due to the steep entry costs. This Colorado Gives fundraising effort helps cover the cost of maintenance for bikes shared by volunteers or donated. We want to expand our fleet of shareable bikes so we can accommodate kids of different sizes with an appropriate fit. We can also cover additional safety equipment when needed.
• Importantly, donations help us cover team dinners for families who could use the extra support, making sure every rider is fueled for success, both on and off the bike. The pre-race team dinners are important team-building moments where our young athletes can talk about the course and get to know each other off the bike, while our team parents and coaches also get to know each other better and strengthen our core culture.
• Additionally, your contributions continue to help us invest in essential capital expenditures. Items like our team tent (with sides for all weather conditions), tools, and a work stand allow us to maintain the team's bikes and ensure that everyone has a safe, well-functioning ride. 

If you are a mountain biker yourself, there’s little I can say that would better express the combination of pure thrill and intense grit that the sport provides us. You know it well.

If you’re not a mountain biker, you’re here because your child is, and you’ve seen the way it lights them up. You’ve appreciated the endurance and determination that is making a deep impression on your child as they grow into resilient young adults. 

These qualities build healthy, happy, well-balanced people. Let’s make sure the starting line is wide open to all who want to enter the race.
