RAÍCES VIVAS 15 Passenger Van Fundraiser

Welcome to the Raices Vivas fundraising campaign! Raices Vivas is a vital youth program originally known as the ELLOS Program, dedicated to supporting young Latino/Chicano/Indigenous boys in Boulder County. Initially focused on mental health, substance abuse, positive masculinity, and cultural identity, the program also includes creating soccer teams for friendly matches against other local youth teams.

Recognizing the need to expand and include all Black and Brown Latine/Chicane/Indigenous youth, Raices Vivas was established. Our goal is to provide a safe space where youth can explore their identities, receive support, and engage in positive activities.

Challenges Faced

One significant challenge we encountered was transportation. Many of our youth participants lacked reliable transportation to attend workshops and pro-social events. Initially, we relied on community organizations for support, but unfortunately, consistent assistance was not forthcoming. This led us to rent vans, but availability issues sometimes forced us to reschedule or cancel activities, impacting youth participation and morale.

Our Vision: A Van for Raices Vivas

To address these challenges effectively, we are launching this fundraising campaign to acquire our own van. Having a dedicated van will ensure that transportation is no longer a barrier for our youth. It will enable us to:

• Increase Accessibility: Youth who previously couldn't attend due to transportation issues will now have a reliable means to participate in workshops, pro-social activities, and soccer matches.

• Promote Team Unity: With our own van, we can attend soccer matches as a cohesive team, fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging among our youth.

• Ensure Reliability: No more worries about van availability; we can schedule activities confidently, knowing transportation is secured.
