About Us
Four years ago, our mountain communities faced the reality of three teen suicides. We were made painfully aware of the mental health issues that young people face and the lack of life saving resources accessible to them. Resilience1220 was founded by a group of local therapists and community members. They worked tirelessly to break down barriers to neighborhood mental health resources and the social stigmas around seeking care. We provide confidential counseling services to youth ages 12 to 20 years old at no cost. Our service area includes Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Park counties.
Since May 1, 2019, we have served almost 2,000 youth and 250 parents and teachers in individual therapy. We have held close to 500 groups for youth, parents, grandparents, and educators reaching over 2,000 people. Our community outreach program has impacted over 6,000 community members. We have provided over 8,700 hours of counseling to youth in our community, thanks to the dedication and support of donors like you!
In an individual counseling session, a teen will learn how to build resiliency and put into practice coping strategies to face today’s challenges. Through a single group therapy session a youth will build community and connection with their peers. By sponsoring just one hour of counseling, you can save a teen’s life.
