Preparing fossils is a meticulous process that calls for specialized skills and equipment. Microscopes and air scribes are used by trained preparators to carefully restore fossils for education and exhibition. A well-organized collection is vital for preserving fossils for future generations, and requires constant monitoring and safe storage.

However, the equipment required for these activities can be quite expensive. For instance, a single air scribe can cost over a thousand dollars, and the software needed for managing collections often requires costly annual subscriptions.

Nonetheless, the cost is necessary for ensuring that the fossils are preserved and accessible for educational and research purposes. Ultimately, the careful preparation and preservation of fossils are essential for advancing our understanding of the natural world and the history of life on our planet.
