This giving season, I am raising funds for HistoriCorps -- an organization that matters to me.

I invite you to take part and help me reach my goal!

HistoriCorps is more than an organization mobilizing volunteers and students to save historic places at risk -- it's a community of people who care deeply about giving back and appreciating the rich natural beauty and history of our country. I'm grateful to be a part of this community that has changed my life for the better, and I want more people to have the opportunity to be part of the rewarding work that we do together. That's why I'm raising money for HistoriCorps, and I hope you will join me.

This year we completed over forty projects across the country. Each project represents a unique story, a unique group of people working together toward a common goal. Volunteers waded into the jungles of El Yunque National Forest to restore a popular swimming hole and scaled new heights stabilizing the crumbling dome summits of the Birch Creek Charcoal Kilns in Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Idaho. Crews of HistoriCorps volunteers have been hard at work in every corner where our historic gems are tucked away, from the sparkling vistas of Big Sur to the sage-scented high deserts of Oregon, to the expansive embrace of the lush Blue Ridge mountains.

And there are so many more stories to save and new memories to make. With your support, HistoriCorps will be able to reach more volunteers and students. The result is a snowball effect: we save more places not just today, but for generations to come as the alumni of our projects are shaped by their experiences and the skills they have learned.

Since our founding in 2009 over 4,000 volunteers have completed more than 500 projects. As we wrap up our 15th year, help us recruit and grow so that the next 15 years are even better than the last!

About HistoriCorps

HistoriCorps was established in 2009 to bring a hands-on approach to saving the country's endangered historic buildings. Inspired by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) of the 20th century, HistoriCorps follows in its tradition while pursuing innovative models for a 21st century context. Today, HistoriCorps celebrates the more than 4,000 volunteers, youth, and students who have joined us in more than 40 expert-led preservation projects across the country annually. Our ten-year strategic plan calls upon us to become the exemplary leader of experiential historic preservation learning for volunteers and youth; one that inspires and expands the preservation community by investing in workforce development programs and projects of importance to historically under-represented populations.
