Lilly's Run for MIA

Hi, I'm Lilly. On May 19th I will run the Colfax Marathon Half Marathon to raise awareness and funding for Mirror Image Arts. Your gift of any amount will help us disrupt the school to prison pipeline.

Mirror Image Arts is disrupting the school to prison pipeline through interactive theatre programs that develop social emotional skills and build trusted relationships with youth. Research shows that a trusted adult and developmental relationships are linked to statistically significant higher levels of social-emotional skill (SES) development. 

Their programming works with and for young people in schools and juvenile detention centers. MIA works to build moments where social-emotional growth can happen and where young people can express themselves and their emotions through creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and play. Their methodology offers a space where young people can process challenges they experience and work toward solutions. Youth can explore who they are and want to be and can practice being that person – being ready for real-life.

Together, we disrupt the school to prison pipeline and help young people RECLAIM for themselves the rights, opportunities, privileges, and possibilities that others have denied them.
