Why A Capital Campaign? Why Now?

Update posted 2 years ago

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for being a friend and supporter of My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue. For 11 years, we have been helping to save abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs across the country, bringing them to Colorado to find loving forever homes.

As we move into our 12th year of rescue, we aim to expand our reach. We want to be proactive. Rather than just responding to the latest message of a dog who has no other options - we want to help teach future generations about the importance of spay and neuter programs. We want to help people learn about the value of a canine companion. To be honest, we want to make it so that dog rescue isn't necessary anymore.

Yes, it's a lofty goal. But it is our mission. We have said from the beginning that we will not stop trying.

This year, we are hoping to raise a total of $100,000 as part of a capital campaign on Tuesday, December 6th, as part of Colorado Gives Day. With your help, we can move forward with our plan to save more dogs, to keep dogs in their loving homes, and to prevent unnecessary suffering. We hope you will join us in the challenge, and support My Fairy Dawg Mother for Colorado Gives Day.

We can't do it without you. Please join us.

Thank you for your time,

Nikki Gwin

My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue

We are a Colorado based non-profit dog rescue focused on finding the perfect long term home for each dog brought under our rescue umbrella. My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue, Inc, established in early 2011,  boasts a 100% success rate with over 1000 dogs that have been placed since the creation of the rescue. We are staffed entirely by volunteers, and supported by community donations.

Our formula for successful placement of each rescue dog lies in a plan that includes foster homes, behavioral modification training, complete vetting, an adoption agreement, and a trial period offered to every adoption candidate with their potential canine companion.

My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue was founded in 2011 in an effort to save abused and neglected dogs from across the United States, and pair them with loving and stable Colorado families.

The majority of our funds go toward the transportation of abused and neglected dogs from other shelters and surrounding states to foster homes, rehabilitate foster dogs and find them permanent homes, educate the public about dog ownership, and provide financial assistance to dog owners in the community.

All of our revenue is turned around to support our programs of helping the dogs in the community. It currently costs about $1000 per dog for the process of rescue, and our adoption costs don't cover that per animal.
